Ultra Sins

Description

When I was looking at game information for my Lusamine analysis, I inevitably came across some discussions relating to the Ultra Beasts in general. Afterwards, I had an idea about why the Ultra Beasts in Sun/Moon were constructed the way they were (which may now be no longer applicable thanks to the new UBs that have been released).

My theory was that this group was meant to be a subtle display of one of the most classic themes: The Seven Deadly Sins;

Pride: Buzzwole 'shows off its body, but whether that display is a boast or a threat remains unclear'. Buzzwole's energy is directly related to the strength of its 'muscles'.

Sloth:
 Celesteela was the most challenging UB to pinpoint. The way I see it, because of its clunky body and covered eyes (with what looks like a 'blindfold' to me), it would represent Sloth. Its stores power within itself and can move in intense bursts. Otherwise, it seems fairly dormant.

Gluttony:
 This is the most obvious one; it is right in Guzzlord's code name!

Lust:
 Pheromosa undoubtly possesses a feminine figure, and its 'most distinctive features may in fact be its beauty and its powerful pheromones. Most any creature that squares off against a Pheromosa becomes confused, as if struck by the beast's beauty, and loses the will to fight'. Sounds like being overcome by lust (at least, in a more 'kid-friendly' way).

Greed: Greed is on the basis of coveting physical objects for one's own selfish reasons. Xurkitree must raid power plants, which supply electricity to numerous houses, for electricity to create energy for itself.

Wrath:
 It is said that anyone that encounters Kartana will 'be cut down with a single strike of its "blades." In a small, but deadly fashion (almost like a version of the 'Napoleon complex'), Kartana is incredibly aggressive and focused on fighting more than any other UB.

Envy: Nihilego is parasitic; it takes whatever it wants from others (in its case, protection). Envy goes beyond jealousy, as you do not want the other to have what they have. In an indirect, and sick way too, Nihilego takes over the role of Lillie in Lusamine's life. The way it even attempts to appear humanoid in the form of a little girl reminds me of those that desperately shape and pretend to be like those that they envy in the hopes of success and peace of mind.

If my thoughts are not as coherent, it is because I am just now recovering from sleeping poorly for about a month now. Let me know what you think about my theory or about the Ultra Beasts in general. :)

What about Stakatake and Blacephelon? You know, UB Burst and UB Assembly?
